19th Century Ladies of the South-Southwest

This Yahoo! group focuses on impressions from the south and southwest from the entire 19th century. Even though the list focuses on the entire century, there is quite a bit of discussion about the Civil War.

Citizens of the Civil War

This Yahoo! group focuses entirely on civilian impressions of the Civil War era. It is a nationwide list so information from north and south is discussed.

Civil War Center of Texas
The Civil War Center of Texas (CWCT) is an educational, non-profit living history group established to further the understanding of civilian and military life during the Civil War. Based out of Beaumont Ranch near
Grandview, Texas, the CWCT is involved with the semi-annual Beaumont Ranch Civil War Re-enactment Weekend.

Affiliated with the CWCT is the Civilian Reenactor Group whose purpose is to work alongside the battlefield groups in order to improve the non-combatant impressions and create an atmosphere where civilian living history can grow. Classes (see files) meet regularly and provide insightful instruction to living historians of all ages, backgrounds, and experience. They are actively recruiting and welcome any inquiries.

Civil War Lady's Parlor, The

This is an e-list for the Civil War Lady Reenactor or Living Historian, who wish to study and portray the 19th Century woman.

Civil War Needleworkers

Our group is dedicated to recreating the beautiful knit, crochet, tatted, Berlin work, embroidered, sewn, beaded, and netted items of the Civil War era. We will work out the original directions, research the types of materials used, needle sizes, gauges, etc. so that our finished products will be as period correct as possible. Grab your knitting needles, crochet hooks, yarn, lace bobbins, embroidery needles, tatting shuttles, muslin and thread and come on in!

FPIPIN

(pronounced "Pippin"), is the First Person Interpreter's Network a Professional Interest Group for members of ALHFAM. FPIPN is dedicated to promoting first person interpretation. This list is meant to be a clearinghouse of ideas, suggestions, anecdotes, etc. that will help our various colleagues in the field to improve in the Art and Mysteries of the craft.

A group interested in The Godey's Lady's Books as well as Peterson's Lady's Magazines and other period media. A forum for discussion of 19th century fashions, etiquette, home life and reanactment of 19th Century women's history.

Time Travelers Living History Reenactors
We are a group of Living History Reenactors, interested primarily in, but not limited to Civil War Reenacting, and open to information about historical events of all eras, primarly in Southern California and the West/Southwest. This is a forum to share information about events, civilian reenacting, ideas on developing a persona, sources for historical clothing, and research on re-creating an authentic historic civilian impression. This group is primarily for Civilian Reenactors of the Civil War Era, but will include those who are interested in all eras of historic events and historic clothing, manners, dance, and way of living.
